Job Description

Director of Accounting Operations overseeing client-facing accounting and corporate finance functions at Guidehealth. Building strong relationships and managing financial services for multiple clients.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality financial services to multiple clients in line with contracts.
  • Maintain accurate client accounting records and provide timely financial statements and analysis.
  • Assist clients with annual budgets and report performance against targets.
  • Oversee client-related operations such as claim processing, funding, 1099s, cash management, and subrogation recoveries.
  • Execute delegated financial transactions in compliance with contractual requirements.
  • Support client contract development to ensure proper financial service treatment and invoicing requirements.
  • Document revenue recognition in compliance with ASC 606.
  • Oversee invoicing for Guidehealth services and reimbursable expenses.
  • Ensure timely cash posting and follow up on outstanding receivables.
  • Collaborate with corporate accounting and escalate issues as needed.
  • Hire, train, and develop team members; set goals and delegate tasks.
  • Implement and monitor policies and internal controls over assets and financial information.
  • Lead audits of Guidehealth and client financial statements.
  • Ensure SAGE financial system meets business needs and maintain system integrity.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; CPA strongly preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive accounting and reporting experience; public accounting experience a plus (Big 4 or mid-tier firm).
  • Deep experience in healthcare finance (payer or health system), including:
  • Benefit plan design
  • Health plan administrative operations
  • Value-based care
  • Payer/provider contracting
  • Capitation and fee-for-service payment models
  • Medical cost reserves (IBNR) and reinsurance
  • Risk-sharing arrangements
  • Proven ability to manage client-consultant engagements and build strong relationships with client leadership and staff.
  • Expertise in monthly financial close, reporting, revenue management, invoicing, accounts receivable, banking, and cash controls.
  • Skilled in interpreting client contracts for revenue recognition and service requirements.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and leadership skills with a collaborative mindset.
  • Experience with integrated ERP systems (QuickBooks) and financial reporting tools.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong process improvement and systems optimization skills; ability to leverage technology for scale.
