Job Description

Director of Quality deploying QMS and reducing quality costs for RealTruck, a global automotive accessories manufacturer. Leading divisional quality strategy, customer satisfaction, corrective actions, and process improvements.

Responsibilities:

  • Execute Business and Corporate Quality strategies for assigned divisions
  • Deploy and improve RealTruck Quality Management Systems (QMS)
  • Improve customer satisfaction and reduce Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ)
  • Drive and optimize processes to ensure high customer satisfaction
  • Support a culture of high performance through cross-functional collaboration and accountability
  • Lead deployment of RealTruck QMS and process improvements
  • Drive a culture of Quality Excellence aligned with RealTruck Quality Strategy
  • Support creation of Quality Strategy, processes, and organization
  • Create and implement company-wide quality methodologies
  • Anticipate key customer needs and ensure quality systems meet or exceed customer standards
  • Monitor quality trends, define quality issues with customers, and align cross-functional management teams on resolution strategies
  • Assist with corrective actions, investigations, and site-level problem solving
  • Identify recurring trouble spots and establish structured quality systems and processes
  • Deploy and track Quality metrics at the division level and support target achievement
  • Improve Warranty, COPQ, Scrap, and other quality-related metrics
  • Support implementation of a corporate quality manual for each facility
  • Provide support for corrective and preventive actions at facilities
  • Plan, organize, evaluate, and direct department employees; delegate authority to subordinate supervisors or managers

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred
  • 7+ years of experience in Quality Systems Engineering within a manufacturing environment required
  • 5+ years of effective team leadership required
  • Proven track record of driving quality improvements over time
  • Automotive industry experience desired, including knowledge of quality requirements, protocols, and customer expectations
  • Lean/Six Sigma green belt certification or equivalent work experience or company certification preferable
  • Thorough knowledge of quality assurance methods and improvement tools
  • Ability to lead Advanced Product Quality Planning and structured quality planning processes
  • Knowledge of Dimensional Metrology and measurement/inspection processes
  • Knowledge of Quality System Management and applicable standards
  • Data analytics skills, including statistics, data validity, data visualization, and problem solving
  • MiniTab knowledge preferred
  • Expert-level Excel skills
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
  • Approximately 30% travel, possibly higher during certain periods
  • Ability to manage competing demands and adapt to frequent change
  • Ability to synthesize complex information, collect and research data, and design workflows and procedures
  • Ability to identify and resolve problems and develop alternative solutions
  • Accuracy and thoroughness in quality work
  • Clear and persuasive speaking, listening, clarification, and group presentation skills
  • Sedentary work capability; ability to talk and hear; close visual acuity for data analysis, computer work, reading, visual inspection, measurement devices, and parts assembly/fabrication
  • Ability to work in a professional office environment using standard office equipment
