Job Description
Director of Supply Chain leading operations for an e-commerce lawn-care startup. Managing sourcing, manufacturing, inventory, logistics, technology, budgets, and Operations teams.
Responsibilities:
- Lead all aspects of supply chain operations, including forecasting, sourcing, procurement, outsourced manufacturing, inventory management, 3PL management, fulfillment, and logistics
- Own accountability for on-time, in-full delivery to direct and wholesale customers
- Oversee supplier, manufacturer, transportation, supply chain, and inventory management
- Develop and refine S&OP and cross-functional planning processes
- Participate in new product development and ensure timely project completion
- Maintain and develop supplier and network-partner relationships
- Define and monitor performance metrics, benchmarks, reports, dashboards, and scorecards
- Create the strategic supply chain plan and determine future-state capacities, costs, capabilities, and geographies
- Lead cross-functional strategic projects and financial and quantitative analyses
- Translate strategic objectives into project roadmaps covering people, processes, systems, and assets
- Improve supply chain technology and evaluate scalable technology and infrastructure
- Partner with Finance and Accounting on cash forecasting, cost classifications, budgets, COGS, operating expenses, capital expenditures, SKU rationalization, revenue forecasting, and final budgeting
- Manage the Operations Department and develop team members through coaching, mentoring, performance check-ins, and action plans
- Recruit and hire additional talent as needed
- Implement scalable processes, systems, and leadership initiatives that support a high-functioning team
Requirements:
- +10 years of progressive supply chain leadership, including Director roles or equivalent
- Functional expertise across sourcing, outsourced manufacturing, 3PL logistics, quality, and cost optimization
- Experience in ecommerce, direct-to-consumer, and CPG businesses
- Experience sourcing from and managing international suppliers
- Ability to prioritize and drive many projects simultaneously with a sense of urgency
- Ability to inspire and motivate a department toward high performance
- Detail-oriented, assiduous, results-driven, positive, collaborative, flexible, transparent, passionate about learning, and empathetic
- Communication and collaboration skills
- Inspirational leadership, influence, execution and results, vision and direction, and talent development
