Job Description

Engineering Manager overseeing growth team focused on enhancing user experience at Honeycomb.io. Leading culture, strategy, and technical direction to support innovative developer tools.

Responsibilities:

  • Prioritize building a respectful, high-achieving, inclusive culture on the team.
  • Communicate your own team’s roadmap and strategy across the organization.
  • Foster psychological safety in your team and the wider organization.
  • Know your business, drive results, and understand company priorities to help your team prioritize and balance investments.
  • Partner with your management peers to fill gaps and brainstorm creative solutions together.

Requirements:

  • You have experience leading a small team of engineers and are excited to grow your management craft.
  • You collaborate naturally with product and design to understand business context and frame priorities around user and business impact.
  • You're energized by fast feedback loops and iterative experimentation.
  • You are comfortable contributing technically alongside your management responsibilities.
  • You understand the value of diverse, equitable, and inclusive teams and bring that lens to your hiring decisions, team culture, and day-to-day leadership.
  • You are comfortable with the pace and trade-offs of a growth-stage startup: prioritizing ruthlessly, tolerating some ambiguity, wearing different hats, and taking care of yourself and your team along the way.

Benefits:

  • A stake in our success - generous equity with employee-friendly stock program
  • It’s not about how strong of a negotiator you are - our pay is based on transparent levels relative to experience
  • Time to recharge - Unlimited PTO and paid sabbatical
  • A distributed-first mindset and culture (really!)
  • Home office, co-working, and internet stipend
  • Full benefits coverage for employees, with additional coverage available for dependents
  • Up to 16 weeks of paid parental leave, regardless of path to parenthood
  • Annual development allowance
