Job Description
Patent linguist translating and proofreading English content into Latin American Spanish for Welocalize. Handling Electricity and Computer Science patents with XTM in an Asia-based remote freelance role.
Responsibilities:
- Translate patent-related content from English into Spanish (LatAm), conveying the original meaning in a readable and understandable manner
- Follow instructions, including translation processes and CAT tool usage
- Communicate effectively and respond promptly in English
- Translate and proofread patents in Electricity, Computer Science, and Chemistry
- Support an expected weighted volume of 2,000–5,000 words per week
Requirements:
- Minimum two years' experience translating and reviewing content in the patent fields
- Native-level fluency in Spanish
- Degree in linguistics, translation or equivalent experience
- Ability to translate, copy edit, and perform MTPE
- Immediate availability for patent translation projects
- Strong experience translating and proofreading patents, specifically in Electricity, Computer Science, and Chemistry
- Experience using the XTM CAT tool
- Ability to communicate effectively and respond promptly in English
