Job Description
Executive Project Developer leading complex energy, infrastructure, and facility modernization projects for Trane Technologies’ sustainable climate solutions. Guiding regional teams, financial strategy, customer alignment, and emerging technology adoption.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee project development for high-profile, complex, and strategic opportunities across North America
- Support regional teams through opportunity qualification, audit planning, solution development, project strategy, financial evaluation, risk management, customer engagement, and contract execution
- Collaborate with Project Developers, Sales teams, Energy Engineers, and Operations leaders to strengthen project development capabilities
- Provide coaching, mentoring, technical guidance, and project leadership support
- Facilitate customer objective definition, investment prioritization, alternative evaluation, and stakeholder alignment
- Support executive presentations, customer workshops, and strategic planning discussions
- Promote adoption of project development standard work, tools, processes, and best practices across North America
- Encourage knowledge sharing, capture lessons learned, and improve consistency, quality, productivity, and customer outcomes
- Evaluate market trends, customer needs, and emerging technologies to identify solution opportunities
- Partner with internal experts to incorporate advanced technologies, building analytics, geothermal, digital solutions, AI-enabled tools, electrification strategies, and resilience-focused solutions
- Guide teams in balancing customer objectives, technical feasibility, financial performance, constructability, operations, implementation risk, and long-term value
- Support quality reviews of audits, financial models, project scopes, contractor strategies, and customer deliverables
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Energy Management, Facilities Management, Architecture, Business, or related discipline; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 8+ years of experience leading development of complex energy, infrastructure, facility modernization, design-build, performance contracting, or capital improvement projects
- Experience leading multidisciplinary project development teams through opportunity qualification, audit development, solution development, financial evaluation, and contract execution
- Strong understanding of building systems, energy conservation measures, facility infrastructure, constructability, and project implementation strategies
- Experience developing and evaluating business cases, lifecycle cost analyses, financial models, project risks, and customer value propositions
- Ability to lead and influence diverse teams without direct authority
- Strong communication, facilitation, presentation, and executive engagement skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with facility, operational, and executive stakeholders
- Experience coordinating engineers, consultants, contractors, estimators, operations teams, and customer stakeholders
- Willingness to travel throughout North America
- Preferred experience with Investment Grade Audits, Detailed Audits, ESPC, Design-Build, Large Turnkey, Healthcare, Higher Education, K-12, Municipal, Federal, Industrial, or Commercial projects
- Preferred familiarity with HVAC systems, controls, energy management systems, electrical infrastructure, central utility plants, renewable energy systems, resilience solutions, and intelligent building technologies
- Preferred experience managing project development budgets, schedules, audit teams, consultant engagements, and contractor procurement
- Preferred experience deploying standard work, operational improvements, capability-building programs, or organizational change initiatives
- Preferred certifications include PE, CEM, PMP, DBIA, LEED AP, or CCP
