Job Description
Senior R Developer building R/Shiny applications and APIs for preclinical-study statistical analysis at Avenga. Developing visualizations, bioinformatics tooling, databases, and automated tests.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain multiple R/Shiny applications
- Develop and maintain R packages supporting R/Shiny applications, analytical calculations, and visualizations
- Develop and maintain REST and GraphQL API endpoints
- Visualize data and analysis results in ggplot2, including manipulation of built objects
- Save, read, and update documents in a NoSQL database
- Write and maintain unit and integration tests
- Implement CI/CD in GitHub Actions
Requirements:
- Minimum 4 years of experience in coding in R for the senior level
- Experience developing R packages
- Very good knowledge of Shiny
- Very good knowledge of plotly and ggplot packages
- Good knowledge of Git/version control
- Good knowledge of bash command line and Unix environment
- Knowledge of Docker
- Knowledge of HTML, JavaScript, jQuery, and CSS
- English at least at B2 level
- Good understanding of biological concepts and experimental methods commonly used in molecular biology, with interest in learning more
- Experience with Bioconductor libraries
- Experience with sequencing/genomic data analysis (NGS, including RNA-Seq, WGS, and scRNA-Seq) and familiarity with bioinformatics tools used to process such data
- Good knowledge of unit testing and front-end testing (e.g. R/Selenium, phantomjs)
- Knowledge of MongoDB and SQL is a plus
- Experience with unit testing is a plus
