Job Description
Lifestyle Coach supporting disabled people’s daily lives, independence, and community participation. Joining Te Roopu Taurima, New Zealand’s largest kaupapa Māori disability support provider.
Responsibilities:
- Support daily routines and household tasks
- Assist with cooking, shopping and budgeting
- Encourage community participation and social connections
- Support appointments and activities
- Help people develop skills and achieve personal goals
- Promote wellbeing, choice and independence
- Maintain accurate records and communication with the wider team
- Work alongside people with intellectual and physical disabilities to help them build confidence, develop life skills, achieve goals, and participate in their communities
Requirements:
- At least 2 years' experience in New Zealand supporting people with disabilities or in a related community-based support role
- Experience working independently and supporting people with complex needs
- Experience in behaviour support, mental health, youth work, social services, or trauma-informed care
- A Level 3 New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing (or equivalent qualification or experience)
- A full New Zealand driver's licence
- Strong communication skills and a person-centred approach
- Availability to work rostered shifts, including evenings, weekends and public holidays
- Legal right to work in New Zealand
- Satisfactory pre-employment screening, including professional referee checks, right-to-work verification, driver's licence check, criminal history checks, pre-employment medical assessment including drug and alcohol testing, ACC history check, and qualification or certification verification
