Job Description

Lifestyle Coach supporting disabled people’s daily lives, independence, and community participation. Joining Te Roopu Taurima, New Zealand’s largest kaupapa Māori disability support provider.

Responsibilities:

  • Support daily routines and household tasks
  • Assist with cooking, shopping and budgeting
  • Encourage community participation and social connections
  • Support appointments and activities
  • Help people develop skills and achieve personal goals
  • Promote wellbeing, choice and independence
  • Maintain accurate records and communication with the wider team
  • Work alongside people with intellectual and physical disabilities to help them build confidence, develop life skills, achieve goals, and participate in their communities

Requirements:

  • At least 2 years' experience in New Zealand supporting people with disabilities or in a related community-based support role
  • Experience working independently and supporting people with complex needs
  • Experience in behaviour support, mental health, youth work, social services, or trauma-informed care
  • A Level 3 New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing (or equivalent qualification or experience)
  • A full New Zealand driver's licence
  • Strong communication skills and a person-centred approach
  • Availability to work rostered shifts, including evenings, weekends and public holidays
  • Legal right to work in New Zealand
  • Satisfactory pre-employment screening, including professional referee checks, right-to-work verification, driver's licence check, criminal history checks, pre-employment medical assessment including drug and alcohol testing, ACC history check, and qualification or certification verification
