Job Description
Recovery Coach supporting justice-involved individuals with substance use disorder at Holon Health. Providing peer-based recovery guidance, care navigation, advocacy, and community-resource connections remotely.
Responsibilities:
- Build trusting, nonjudgmental relationships with clients based on shared lived experience
- Use personal recovery experience to offer hope, motivation, and accountability
- Collaborate with participants and the Holon care team to develop personalized recovery plans
- Connect clients to community resources, including housing, healthcare, employment, and transportation
- Conduct strengths-based assessments to identify client needs and goals
- Advocate for clients within the justice system, care system, and other relevant environments
- Partner with Care Navigators, clinicians, and judicial points of contact for integrated care
- Stay informed on best practices in peer support and recovery-based care
- Maintain confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA standards
- Contribute to new initiatives and engagement strategies as assigned
Requirements:
- Sustained recovery with at least one year of lived experience (strongly preferred)
- Certified as a Peer Recovery Support Specialist (PRS) or Peer Recovery Coach
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Certification as a Peer Recovery Coach or PRS in the state of Iowa; national certification from an accredited agency like NAADAC is also accepted
- 1–2 years in a peer support role is strongly preferred
- Lived experience or close connection to someone in recovery is strongly valued
- Experience working with justice-involved populations is a plus
- Deep empathy, strong listening, and communication skills
- Knowledge of recovery realities and barriers clients may face
- Commitment to professional boundaries and ethical standards
- Comfort working remotely in a fast-paced, team-based environment
