Job Description
Finance Intern supporting invoices and finance operations at Weaviate, an open-source AI vector database startup. Automating processes with modern AI tools.
Responsibilities:
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable invoices
- Manage and actively follow up on queries in the central finance inbox
- Execute operational tasks and controls within expense management systems such as Pleo and Ramp
- Identify opportunities and advise on automating and optimizing financial operations using AI tools
- Support the finance team with day-to-day operational and administrative tasks
Requirements:
- Available for 16 hours per week, with flexible hours, preferably at fixed moments
- Currently pursuing at least a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field
- At least 1 year of accounting experience, such as processing bank transactions and accounts payable/receivable
- Advanced proficiency in Dutch and ability to work with Dutch accounting and banking systems
- Hands-on knowledge and experience with AI tools such as Gemini, Claude, Copilot, and ChatGPT
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proactive, self-starter mindset suitable for an international, remote-first environment
- Eager to learn and contribute to the growth and continuous improvement of Weaviate's finance function
- Alignment with Weaviate's company values
- Legal work authorization or right to work in the country where the candidate plans to live and work
- Background check as part of onboarding
