Job Description
Freelance English-to-Traditional-Chinese translator proofreading investment banking market commentary. Delivering client-ready financial translations for TransPerfect’s global language-services business.
Responsibilities:
- Translate and proofread documents for clients in the Investment Banking sector
- Create and finalize translated deliverables before they go to the client
- Work under the guidance of a manager and in collaboration with Project Managers
- Translate from English into Traditional Chinese (Taiwan) for Investment Banking – Market Commentary
- Apply subject matter expertise to produce final client-ready work
Requirements:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Traditional Chinese (Taiwan)
- Specialized in Investment Banking – Market Commentary
- Acute attention to detail, spelling and grammar
- Ability to maintain professionalism in all situations, especially under tight deadlines
- Asian time zone preferred
- Applicants must sign a confidentiality agreement
- Applicants must complete free Translation and Proofreading tests
- Applicants must undergo a background check
- A Degree in Translation, Linguistics, or Language Studies or an equivalent degree that includes significant translation training, from a recognized institution of higher education; OR 2 years of translation experience and a college degree; OR 5 years of translation experience and no college degree; OR a certificate of competence in translation awarded by an appropriate government body
- Latest CV must include relevant Translation and Proofreading experience and proposed best Translation per word rate and Proofreading hourly rate in USD
