Job Description
Freelance translator translating and proofreading English-to-Traditional Chinese (Taiwan) investment banking market commentary. Supporting TransPerfect’s international clients as a remote linguist.
Responsibilities:
- Translate documents from English into Traditional Chinese (Taiwan)
- Proofread translated documents
- Create and finalize translation deliverables before they go to the client
- Translate and proofread documents for clients in the Investment Banking sector
- Work under the guidance of a manager
- Collaborate with Project Managers
- Complete translation and proofreading tests to demonstrate skills
- Provide relevant translation and proofreading experience in the CV
Requirements:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Traditional Chinese (Taiwan)
- Specialized in Investment Banking, specifically Market Commentary
- Acute attention to detail, spelling and grammar
- Ability to maintain professionalism in all situations, especially under tight deadlines
- Asian time zone preferred
- Must sign a confidentiality agreement
- Must complete Translation and Proofreading tests
- Must undergo a background check
- Latest CV required
- CV must include relevant Translation and Proofreading experience
- CV must include proposed best Translation per word rate and Proofreading hourly rate in USD
- One of the following: a degree in Translation, Linguistics, or Language Studies or an equivalent degree with significant translation training from a recognized higher education institution; 2 years of translation experience and a college degree; 5 years of translation experience and no college degree; or a certificate of competence in translation awarded by an appropriate government body
