Job Description
GIS Analyst II providing day-to-day GIS support for DOI GIS Modernization activities. Responsible for geospatial tasks, data validation, and interactive dashboards.
Responsibilities:
- Provides day-to-day production GIS support for DOI GIS Modernization activities
- Performs recurring and procedural geospatial tasks related to parcel mapping, TAAMS/LAC data migration, spatial analysis, cartographic production, and GIS data maintenance
- Supports the creation and update of parcel fabric data
- Assists with fee-to-trust and land description workflows
- Performs data validation and quality control checks
- Develops mapping products and dashboards under the direction of the GIS Analyst III
- Participates on interdisciplinary teams with federal GIS specialists and other stakeholders
- Supports initiatives by producing accurate, timely, and standards-compliant GIS deliverables
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in GIS, Geography, Environmental Science, or related discipline
- Minimum 3–5 years of professional GIS experience
- Working knowledge of ESRI GIS software and tools
- Experience performing spatial analysis, mapping, and data QA/QC
- Familiarity with geospatial database concepts and metadata development
- Ability to develop basic GIS applications or dashboards under supervision
- Experience working on interdisciplinary teams
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established standards and procedures
