Job Description

GIS Analyst II providing day-to-day GIS support for DOI GIS Modernization activities. Responsible for geospatial tasks, data validation, and interactive dashboards.

Responsibilities:

  • Provides day-to-day production GIS support for DOI GIS Modernization activities
  • Performs recurring and procedural geospatial tasks related to parcel mapping, TAAMS/LAC data migration, spatial analysis, cartographic production, and GIS data maintenance
  • Supports the creation and update of parcel fabric data
  • Assists with fee-to-trust and land description workflows
  • Performs data validation and quality control checks
  • Develops mapping products and dashboards under the direction of the GIS Analyst III
  • Participates on interdisciplinary teams with federal GIS specialists and other stakeholders
  • Supports initiatives by producing accurate, timely, and standards-compliant GIS deliverables

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in GIS, Geography, Environmental Science, or related discipline
  • Minimum 3–5 years of professional GIS experience
  • Working knowledge of ESRI GIS software and tools
  • Experience performing spatial analysis, mapping, and data QA/QC
  • Familiarity with geospatial database concepts and metadata development
  • Ability to develop basic GIS applications or dashboards under supervision
  • Experience working on interdisciplinary teams
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established standards and procedures
