Job Description
Online adjunct teaching Liberty University graphic design and digital arts courses. Guiding undergraduate and graduate students through critiques, assignments, and industry-standard software.
Responsibilities:
- Teach undergraduate and/or graduate students within the online Graphic Design curriculum
- Teach online undergraduate and graduate Studio and Digital Arts classes in Graphic Design, Animation, Design Foundations, Typography, and Web and UX/UI design
- Manage and support developed lectures, discussions, and course assignments using current industry-standard practices
- Provide regular and timely feedback to students and supervisors to improve student thinking, execution, and success
- Evaluate student work and provide detailed critiques
- Submit grades in a timely manner
- Stay current with industry trends, software, and technologies
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- An MA in Graphic Design, Animation, 2D Design and a strong record of professional achievement
- Practicing designer with industry experience in graphic design, animation, or studio art
- Skills may include print and new media design, animation software, and current design and web development software proficiency
- Portfolio link included on resume/curriculum vitae
- Preferred: An MFA with three years or more of full-time online teaching experience at undergraduate and graduate levels, or equivalent
- Preferred for animation instructors: minimum of 18 graduate hours in 2D and/or 3D Animation coursework
- Preferred for animation instructors: knowledge of animation/3D modeling software and 4–5 years of animation experience
- Preferred: knowledge of modeling, rigging, texturing, lighting, and animating
- Preferred: knowledge of the design process and storyboarding
- Preferred: additional experience with online course development and instruction
- Expected to maintain professional and creative development
- Preferred: history of publication in academic or trade journals
- Preferred: existing research agenda
- Commitment to Liberty University’s goals and values and personal spiritual formation within a biblically informed Christian worldview
