Job Description
Head of Engineering leading POS inventory, logistics, and repair software for Moniepoint’s fintech network. Scaling distributed engineering teams and device operations across global markets.
Responsibilities:
- Own the technical strategy and architecture for inventory and logistics tools and repair management software
- Lead an engineering organisation of approximately 25 engineers, including managers, QA, SRE and Data Engineering
- Drive platformisation of inventory and supply chain systems across millions of terminals
- Build operationally disciplined solutions bridging operational practice and software systems
- Define architecture standards, engineering processes and quality metrics across squads
- Collaborate with business and operational stakeholders to translate requirements into engineering solutions
- Hire, mentor and develop engineering managers and senior engineers to support growth to 30+ members
- Deliver scalable inventory and logistics systems across multiple countries
- Establish operational data visibility and trust across global markets
- Enable reliability and data integrity through robust architecture standards
Requirements:
- 10–15 years of overall software engineering experience, including at least 5 years leading engineering teams through growth phases
- 5+ years of hands-on, production-level experience writing and shipping Java code
- At least 5 years of experience managing managers
- Deep hands-on experience in supply chain, inventory, warehouse or logistics software at scale
- Fintech or regulated-industry experience
- Strong backend engineering skills for data-intensive, distributed, operational systems
- Proven system design ability at large scale, managing hundreds of thousands of devices or more
- Experience managing and developing large engineering teams of 20 or more members
- Excellent stakeholder management
- Product-minded approach to operational problem-solving
