Job Description

Home Care Aide providing non-medical private-duty care in patients’ homes and hotel recovery suites. Supporting daily living, safety, companionship, and recovery for Vitale Nursing patients.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility support
  • Provide personal care and companionship in private residences or hotel recovery suites
  • Support light meal preparation, feeding assistance, and hydration reminders
  • Provide non-medical medication reminders only; do not administer medication
  • Perform household tasks related to patient care, including tidying the patient’s area and laundry
  • Provide safety supervision, fall prevention, and mobility assistance
  • Report patient observations and changes in condition to the supervising RN, LVN, or CNA
  • Document daily care according to Vitale Nursing, Inc. policy

Requirements:

  • Valid Home Care Aide (HCA) Registration with the California Department of Social Services (CDSS)
  • Current CPR/BLS Certification
  • Reliable transportation
  • Professional, punctual, and trustworthy demeanor
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Three professional references
  • Successful completion of a background check and fingerprint clearance
  • Active HCA registration (California)
  • Two forms of identification (Driver’s License/Passport and Social Security card)
  • Physical exam and TB test within 1 year
  • Proof of COVID-19 vaccination and booster (or plan to obtain)
  • Preferred: prior caregiving experience in home care, hospice, or assisted living
  • Preferred: experience with post-operative recovery support
  • Preferred: familiarity with dementia/Alzheimer’s care and fall prevention
