Job Description
Home Care Worker supporting Silverchain’s aged-care clients with housekeeping, personal care, transport, and companionship across Brisbane. Helping older Australians live independently at home.
Responsibilities:
- Provide home help services to aged care clients
- Perform general housekeeping and make beds
- Clean, mop and vacuum floors
- Wash, fold and iron laundry
- Prepare meals and complete grocery shopping
- Assist clients with getting out of bed, showering and dressing
- Assist clients to take medications
- Assist with mobility and therapy goals
- Provide complex care for customers with high care needs, including dementia
- Provide social and emotional support
- Transport clients to lifestyle activities or appointments
- Give family carers a break or opportunity to attend to other activities
- Work independently, identify solutions to everyday problems, and seek manager assistance when needed
- Build positive relationships with clients and their families
- Support older community members to live independently at home
Requirements:
- Keen interest in Aged Care
- Cert 3 applicants must have Ageing or Aged Care qualification
- Valid Australian Driver's Licence
- Own insured, roadworthy vehicle
- Preferred candidates must complete a National Police check
- Preferred candidates must complete a Work Rights check
- Preferred candidates must confirm COVID-19 vaccination status; vaccination is highly recommended but not mandatory
