Job Description
Home Experience Designer creating lighting, motorized shade, AV, and smart-home systems for Bravas, a nationwide luxury residential technology integrator. Producing technical designs and installation documentation.
Responsibilities:
- Take input from sales staff and complete original designs and proposals
- Turn designs into functional systems for installation
- Produce plans, drawings, elevations, and other installation documentation
- Partner with Design and Sales teams to achieve the desired vision and functionality
- Specify requirements from other trades and communicate them to the Project Manager
- Develop innovative solutions within budget and product constraints
- Attend weekly design meetings and incorporate engineering feedback
- Review sales orders, product lists, and elevations with sales staff, PMs, and programmers
- Update project documentation, proposals, and change orders in job management software
- Recommend products for bench testing and demonstrations
- Contact vendors and industry experts regarding equipment and engineering issues
- Provide remote support to field technicians
- Occasionally travel to sites to witness systems in use
- Train or communicate pertinent information to field technicians
- Manage assigned assets and property responsibly
- Provide customer service to high-profile, high-demand customers
- Protect client confidentiality and network/home security
- Adhere to state and federal laws, including traffic laws
Requirements:
- Understanding of all AV systems, with distinct proficiency in lighting and shade control
- Ability to read and construct house plans, elevations, lighting diagrams, and related documentation
- Continuing education on all systems, with focused curriculum on lighting and shading control
- Required knowledge of residential lighting control system design, load types, panelized versus distributed architecture, keypad specification, and integration fundamentals
- Required knowledge of motorized shade systems, including power planning, fabric selection basics, control integration, and specification standards
- Proficiency with AutoCAD
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365
- Basic AV system knowledge preferred
- Basic residential networking fundamentals preferred
- Lighting fixture specification and load calculation preferred
- Familiarity with D-Tools SI preferred
- Familiarity with Lutron, Crestron, Control4, or Savant lighting control platforms preferred
- Technical aptitude and attention to detail
- Flexibility to meet customer demands outside normal working hours
- Ability to stand or sit for extended periods
- Valid in-state driver's license, clean driving record, and criminal background check
- Ability to work with high-profile and high-demand customers
- Must comply with applicable state and federal laws
