Job Description

Tier 2 Benefits Administrator managing complex Workday benefits transactions and HR inquiries. Supporting colleague experience, compliance, case resolution, and process improvement for Trinity Health.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver courteous, empathetic colleague service through case management and phone interactions
  • Resolve cases while maintaining applicable SLA standards
  • Track and document issues and case notes using case management technology
  • Respond to HR inquiries about benefits administration, HRIS systems, and policy interpretation
  • Support escalations and warm transfers/direct colleague-leader connections
  • Identify and implement process enhancements
  • Maintain relationships with health ministry partners and Centers of Expertise
  • Manage complex cases and mentor peers
  • Administer qualifying life events, including birth, adoption, guardianship, marriage, divorce, legal separation, and dissolution of partnership
  • Process employment-driven benefit actions, including new hire/rehire onboarding, status changes, dependent documentation, open enrollment, and transfers
  • Manage eligibility cases, ACA assessments, enrollment, and verification requests
  • Support Open Enrollment planning, appeals, and processing
  • Coordinate with ministries, boards, vendors, and internal partners
  • Support Paid Time Off business processes and employee transitions
  • Apply Workday benefits administration and HRIS knowledge to assess downstream impacts
  • Analyze and validate data using Excel
  • Meet or exceed SLA, KPI, and productivity expectations
  • Provide peer training, shadowing, and guidance on benefits transactions

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent years of experience
  • 2–3 years of previous benefits or shared services related experience, or equivalent experience in lieu of a degree
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Working knowledge of HRIS or direct Workday experience
  • Intermediate Excel skills
  • Advanced knowledge of Workday benefits administration and HRIS processes
  • Ability to manage moderately complex benefit transactions and life-event-based changes
  • Preferred: CEBS, HCI, PHR, or SHRM-CP certification
  • Preferred: Familiarity with vendor management, UKG, and case management systems
