Job Description

IT Netzwerk System Engineer overseeing LAN, WAN, WLAN, and Firewall systems for DATAGROUP. Responsible for network operation continuity and 2nd level support duties in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities:

  • You operate and configure LAN, WAN, WLAN and firewall systems — both for DATAGROUP and remotely for our customers.
  • You plan initial network architecture projects in the areas of LAN, WAN, WLAN and network security — and actively contribute your ideas to implementation.
  • You ensure smooth and highly available operation of our network infrastructure — outages are not an option for you.
  • You analyze and resolve network incidents with expertise, a structured approach and the right amount of patience.
  • In 2nd-level support you are the competent contact for complex network issues — both internally and externally.
  • You create clear reports and document network environments in a traceable way — because good IT starts with clear documentation.

Requirements:

  • You have completed training as an IT specialist (Fachinformatiker) or hold a degree in computer science (a Bachelor's degree is sufficient).
  • You have initial experience in network administration — TCP/IP, VPN & Co. are familiar to you.
  • Cisco is more than just a vendor to you — especially in LAN, WLAN and WAN environments.
  • You have had hands-on experience with routers, switches or VPN gateways from Cisco or HP.
  • You enjoy automating with Ansible, occasionally write Python scripts and have no qualms about working with APIs.
  • You have encountered tools such as Nagios, Zabbix or HP IMC — and ideally have used them.
  • Certifications like CCNA, CCNP or Fortinet FCP are a plus but not mandatory.
  • You speak fluent German (at least C1) and are also comfortable conducting technical conversations in English.

Benefits:

  • A tailored onboarding with a personal mentor — you won’t be thrown in at the deep end.
  • No day is the same: challenging, varied, autonomous — and never boring.
  • Flat hierarchies instead of bureaucratic detours. Speak directly.
  • The flexibility you need: hybrid working, flexible hours, additional vacation days — this is part of our culture.
  • Modernly equipped offices: height-adjustable desks, two monitors, quiet retreats and open spaces — just the way you like them.
  • JobRad & team spirit: whether road bike or e-bike — we’ll help you get rolling. And yes, we celebrate sports together (including sponsorship!).
  • Company pension? We have one — and it comes with an employer contribution as a rule.
  • Well prepared for the future.
  • Our corporate benefits give you discounts and experiences to enjoy.
