Job Description

IT Project Manager overseeing technology projects for Harris & Harris, a utilities, government, and healthcare revenue recovery firm. Managing schedules, budgets, risks, stakeholders, deployments, and IT project portfolio tools.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain project management deliverables including charters, requirements, business cases, risk assessments, schedules, and project organization charts
  • Manage project resources, schedules, and budgets
  • Manage project changes, incidents, and risks
  • Coordinate project tasks and activities through development and deployment
  • Transition projects into steady-state maintenance
  • Ensure deliverables meet project schedules, objectives, and quality standards
  • Obtain stakeholder approvals and monitor project progress
  • Report status and identify and resolve risks impacting project completion
  • Escalate unresolved issues to senior management
  • Adjust resources to ensure project success and completion
  • Provide work direction and feedback to team members and assist with issue resolution
  • Provide guidance on administrative and technical problems
  • Assist with project-related staffing activities
  • Develop processes and identify appropriate methodologies for critical systems and development efforts
  • Support efforts to streamline organizational project management
  • Review, implement, and recommend tools for managing projects and the organizational project portfolio

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field or equivalent work experience required
  • Minimum five years managing IT projects
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and Microsoft Project
  • Visio experience preferred
  • Understanding of current and emerging technology platforms for IT applications, infrastructure, and information management
  • Understanding of the Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) process
  • Ability to work within expected guidelines under limited supervision
  • Experience with implementations and data transfers
  • Creative problem resolution skills
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Good quantitative and qualitative skills
  • Software application knowledge and troubleshooting experience
  • Experience working closely with software developers preferred
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and follow-up abilities
  • Effective time management and organizational skills
  • Understanding of IT audit requirements for SOX, PCI DSS, NIST, HIPAA, and other government regulations
  • Understanding of disaster recovery and business continuity
  • Ability to work Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm and outside these hours when needed
  • Project management training or certification is a plus, including CAPM, PMP, or CompTIA Project+
  • Collections experience, specifically with the CUBS collection application, is a plus
