Job Description
ITSM CMDB Administrator managing Configuration Management Database at Ferguson. Responsible for design, accuracy, and automation of CMDB data within ITSM platform.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as a subject matter expert in ITSM and Configuration Management, with solid understanding of ITBM, Asset Management, Event Management, Service Mapping, and application development
- Design, implement, and maintain fully automated CMDB data collection and maintenance using APIs, AI, and custom code
- Ensure the integrity, accuracy, and usability of CMDB configuration items and relationships through ongoing validation and governance
- Develop and support ITSM applications and integrations with external systems
- Identify system gaps, recommend solutions, and provide ongoing production support
- Collaborate with ITSM team members, internal business customers, and vendors to deliver enhancements, configuration changes, and issue resolution
- Maintain documentation and continuously improve processes, standards, and tools
- Provide technical training, guidance, and documentation to IT associates
- Know the latest on ITSM platform capabilities and supporting technologies
- Other tasks related to ITSM as deemed vital by management
Requirements:
- 3+ years of experience in CMDB administration preferably using ServiceNow
- Good understanding of configuration item hierarchy and CMDB data modeling
- Experience with ITIL methodology
- At least 1 year of hands-on experience with APIs and automation; exposure to AI technologies including Generative AI, predictive analysis and AI agents is a plus
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Information System or Computer Technology required
- Proficient using MS Office products
- Demonstrable ability to work independently, lead initiatives, and collaborate effectively in a team environment
- High ethical standards, adaptability, and willingness to support evolving business needs, including occasional travel
