Job Description
Commercial kitchen equipment technician repairing cooking, refrigeration, ware-washing, and HVAC systems for Smart Care. Providing onsite customer service, diagnostics, installations, and emergency support.
Responsibilities:
- Partner with restaurant and hospitality managers to offer comprehensive service solutions for commercial cooking, refrigeration, ware-washing, and specialty food service equipment
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair commercial kitchen equipment
- Demonstrate mechanical aptitude, troubleshoot issues, and read diagrams and schematics
- Communicate with manufacturers for diagnosis and parts identification
- Consult the Technical Assistance Group for onsite technical support
- Install customer-ordered parts promptly and professionally according to company policy
- Promote and recommend other Smart Care services when needed
- Produce accurate work orders, time reports, receipts, and truck stock inventories
- Follow safe work practices and accident prevention procedures
- Maintain an orderly service vehicle and accurate parts and tool inventory
- Maintain productivity levels according to company standards
Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- 1 year of technical experience with refrigeration, appliance repair, kitchen equipment, HVAC, or relevant military service
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable motor vehicle record
- Willingness and ability to participate in the emergency on-call rotation, including nights and weekends
- Availability for occasional overnight travel as assigned

- Ability to frequently kneel, bend, squat, push, pull, and reach
- Ability to occasionally lift and carry up to 70 pounds
- Ability to work with moving mechanical parts, pressurized steam equipment, open flames, heated surfaces, liquids, and electrical-shock risks in damp, humid, or freezing conditions
- Ability to work on ladders, roofs, and other high places
- Preferred: relevant technical training, licenses, and/or certifications such as EPA or CFESA
- Preferred: commercial refrigeration and/or commercial cooking equipment repair experience
- Self-motivated, with the proven ability to prioritize and work independently with minimal direct supervision
