Job Description

L3 Support Engineer building complex Azure, security, networking and backup solutions. Delivering designs and deployments for Babble’s cloud technology customers.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead hands-on implementation on complex, high-risk or multi-domain projects
  • Build, configure and deploy Microsoft Azure environments, landing zones, management groups, subscriptions, Azure Policy, RBAC and cost governance
  • Implement Azure networking, hybrid connectivity, firewalls, VPNs, private endpoints and DNS
  • Deploy identity and access solutions including Microsoft Entra ID, hybrid identity, Conditional Access and Privileged Identity Management
  • Deliver Azure Virtual Desktop and Windows 365 deployments end to end
  • Plan and execute server, workload and data migrations to Azure
  • Implement Azure Backup and Azure Site Recovery, including recovery testing
  • Configure security and monitoring across Azure and Microsoft 365
  • Automate deployment and configuration using PowerShell, Azure CLI and Infrastructure as Code
  • Deploy and configure Microsoft 365, Intune, Sophos, Mimecast and Acronis solutions
  • Act as final technical escalation point for complex issues
  • Produce High-Level Designs, Low-Level Designs and Statements of Work
  • Provide technical guidance and design assurance throughout delivery
  • Support pre-sales technical activities and customer scoping
  • Conduct technical design reviews and secure customer sign-off
  • Define technical standards, deployment checklists, configuration baselines and design templates
  • Validate UAT results and technical acceptance
  • Mentor Level 1 and Level 2 engineers
  • Collaborate with Support Desk, NOC, Product Managers and Solution Leads
  • Identify and communicate project risks, design constraints and technical dependencies
  • Lead post-implementation design reviews and capture lessons learned
  • Maintain expert technical skills and vendor certifications across the Babble solution portfolio

Requirements:

  • Extensive hands-on experience personally deploying and configuring production Microsoft Azure environments, including networking, identity, compute, Azure Virtual Desktop, migration and BCDR
  • Candidates must evidence solutions they built themselves, not only solutions they designed or oversaw
  • Proven scripting and automation capability in PowerShell
  • Working experience of Infrastructure as Code
  • Hands-on deployment experience across Modern Workplace, Cyber Security, Backup/DR and Networking
  • Experience ideally including Microsoft, Sophos, Mimecast and Acronis platforms
  • Demonstrable design authorship of High-Level Designs, Low-Level Designs and Statements of Work
  • Pre-sales technical experience
  • Track record of mentoring and raising the technical capability of a delivery team
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert (AZ-305), or current successor certification — desired
  • Microsoft Certified: Cybersecurity Architect Expert (SC-100), or current successor certification — desired
  • Microsoft 365 Certified: Administrator Expert (MS-102), or current successor certification — desired
  • Sophos Certified Architect certifications and corresponding Sophos Certified Engineer prerequisites — desired
  • Acronis Certified Engineer (Cyber Protect) — desired
  • Mimecast Certified Product Professional, Advanced level — desired
  • PRINCE2 7th Edition Practitioner or equivalent — advantageous
  • ITIL 4 Foundation or ITIL Version 5 Foundation — advantageous
  • CISSP or equivalent senior security certification; CompTIA Security+ is an acceptable foundational alternative — advantageous
  • CrowdStrike Falcon certifications such as CCFA or CCFR — advantageous
  • Familiarity with Falcon Complete managed detection and response service
  • Stable internet connection
  • Suitable home setup with desk and chair in a quiet space
  • Solution to mitigate load shedding; working from a public space is not an acceptable solution
