Job Description
Logistics administrator coordinating newsprint deliveries, stock control and distribution for Reach, Britain and Ireland’s largest commercial news publisher. Supporting suppliers, print sites and logistics partners.
Responsibilities:
- Act as the primary contact for newsprint suppliers to confirm delivery schedules and quantities
- Coordinate the call-off process, ensuring correct volumes and reel specifications are ordered and delivered on time
- Maintain and update delivery schedules and inform stakeholders of allocated mill times and dates
- Monitor newsprint consumption and stock holdings at print sites and ports against agreed SLAs
- Assist with regular reviews of third-party logistics providers to evaluate service quality and contract compliance
- Analyse distribution routes and vehicle loading patterns to improve capacity utilisation and fuel efficiency
- Reconcile delivery notes and validate newsprint consumption
- Analyse primary distribution costs against budgets and track financial targets
- Build streamlined reporting processes to support decision-making
- Provide administrative and logistics support across national newspaper supply chains for Reach and third-party customers
Requirements:
- Proven experience in a fast-paced supply chain, logistics, or administrative role
- Understanding of the printing, paper, or manufacturing sector is highly desirable
- Knowledge of newsprint specifications such as GSM and reel widths is highly desirable
- Advanced Excel skills
- Advanced data entry skills
- Familiarity with reporting tools
- High attention to detail
- Exceptional time management for complex delivery schedules
- Clear communication skills for managing cross-functional stakeholders
- Ability to track deliveries and resolve inventory discrepancies end-to-end
- Ability to work under pressure and meet critical publishing timelines
- Ability to collaborate with external suppliers, logistics partners, and internal finance/production teams
