Job Description
Marketing and Ops Specialist managing HubSpot for CRM and email marketing at Coconut. Responsible for social media strategy and optimizing content across platforms.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and optimize HubSpot for both CRM and email marketing (database organization, tagging, lists, campaigns).
- Set up, schedule, and manage a consistent LinkedIn content calendar.
- Set up, schedule, and manage Instagram content for the agency; optimize posts for reach and growth.
- Create and execute a monthly newsletter strategy (primarily via HubSpot): topics, structure, copy support, deployment.
- Troubleshoot and own HubSpot newsletter limitations (plan limits, segmenting sends, understanding current subscription or plan).
- Mine the client's extensive photo and video content and turn into regular LinkedIn posts, Instagram posts and stories, and throwback style posts to resurface strong older content.
- Repurpose testimonials and case studies from the website into marketing assets (drip campaigns, social proof posts, etc.).
- Help build visible proof of Meritage’s work online so people clearly understand what the company does.
- Develop a strategy to farm and re-activate Doug’s existing LinkedIn network (DM campaigns, reconnection messages, etc.).
- Explore ways to convert LinkedIn contacts into newsletter subscribers and vice versa.
- Research and apply best practices for LinkedIn reach (hashtags, posting cadence, content angles, tagging, etc.).
- Study examples such as Melissa Henault’s LinkedIn focused strategy and adapt concepts for Doug’s business.
- Improve growth and engagement on Instagram (company account and potentially Doug’s personal account).
- Use basic SEO, social, and hashtag tactics to increase visibility of LinkedIn and Instagram content.
- Suggest content ideas and micro campaigns tied to events Doug is participating in (Santa Barbara panel, major festivals, celebrity events, etc.).
- Clean up and structure the HubSpot database with a focus on brands and brand marketers who run live events or experiential campaigns.
Requirements:
- Strong HubSpot experience with the ability to set it up correctly and teach Doug how to use it.
- Prior marketing experience rather than pure admin, ideally in agencies, brands, events, entertainment, or similar spaces.
- SEO and social media knowledge for LinkedIn and Instagram including optimization, growth strategies, and hashtags.
- A marketing strategy mindset with comfort handling admin as needed (marketing with admin rather than admin with a little marketing).
- Resourceful, proactive, idea generating personality who is comfortable taking initiative.
- Comfortable managing up and confidently guiding Doug on marketing priorities and decisions.
- Background in entertainment, live events, experiential marketing, brands, apparel, or similar consumer focused industries.
- Business development or sales experience with comfort thinking about pipeline and deal generation.
- Experience using AI tools or automation platforms to streamline workflows.
Benefits:
