Job Description

Multimedia Graphic Designer creating graphic, video, photography, and motion content for Kobo, a nonprofit building open-source humanitarian data tools. Supporting fundraising, storytelling, brand awareness, and donor engagement.

Responsibilities:

  • Create fundraising and communications materials, including donor communications, social media imagery, brochures, impact infographics, digital banners, website content, and dynamic presentation decks.
  • Maintain and evolve organizational brand standards, presentation templates, and corporate stationery.
  • Adapt designs for donor audiences including high-net-worth individuals, foundations, corporate partners, and potential customers.
  • Create campaign visuals supporting major gift cultivation, individual giving, and online donor engagement.
  • Develop and manage a digital asset library of photos, videos, animation, graphics, and templates.
  • Manage brand architecture and create and maintain brand guidelines.
  • Collaborate with teams and stakeholders to build cohesive visuals aligned with organizational goals.
  • Assist with campaign landing pages, e-newsletters, and virtual event materials.
  • Support a mobile-first website strategy with dynamic visual content and accessibility standards.
  • Plan and produce professional videography and photography for field programs, storytelling, and impact documentation.
  • Capture content personally and recruit and supervise external partners on the ground.
  • Edit and finalize photo and video assets for websites, social media, grant proposals, and stewardship materials.
  • Produce culturally sensitive imagery and footage with appropriate privacy considerations.
  • Edit raw footage, sound effects, and visual special effects.
  • Create social media visuals, short-form videos, and motion graphics for donor acquisition, storytelling, and awareness campaigns.

Requirements:

  • Proficiency in Figma, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere Pro, After Effects, Lightroom), or other relevant tools such as Affinity, Canva, or CapCut.
  • Experience creating dynamic business or donor pitches using PowerPoint, Google Slides, Keynote, or similar software.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating multimedia and graphic design, digital assets, photography, videography, and traditional graphic design.
  • Experience with social media content creation.
  • Experience with web design.
  • Knowledge of print production and digital optimization best practices.
  • Demonstrated commitment to humanitarian aid, global health, development work, or a similar mission.
  • Significant overlap in daily availability with US East Coast business hours.
  • Working knowledge of 3D modeling and texturing tools such as Blender, Cinema 4D, or Maya.
  • Experience using AI tools responsibly to scale variations of ad creatives and assets.
  • Experience designing direct-response marketing materials and executing A/B testing.
  • Deep understanding of WCAG and ADA-compliant design standards.
  • Experience leading freelance designers or reviewing creative output.
  • Experience in online working environments and tools such as Notion, Zulip, Loom, and Linear.
  • Specialized digital portfolio showcasing web graphics, custom motion graphics, videos, animation, digital ads, and marketing materials.
  • 2 to 5+ years of experience working for a creative agency or similar environment with a design and/or multimedia focus.
