Job Description
Music Therapist providing virtual music therapy services to students in a remote, part-time role. Supporting student development through music-based interventions and collaboration with educators.
Responsibilities:
- Provide virtual music therapy services to students with a variety of needs
- Conduct initial assessments to determine therapy needs and goals
- Plan and deliver engaging, individualized or group virtual music therapy sessions
- Use music-based interventions to support communication, motor skills, emotional regulation, and social development
- Document session outcomes and progress toward goals
- Collaborate with school teams, caregivers, and MIYO Health staff as needed
- Contribute to IEP development and updates, when appropriate
Requirements:
- Certification from the Certification Board for Music Therapists (CB-MT)
- At least 1–2 years of experience providing music therapy to children or adolescents
- Reliable internet connection and professional remote workspace
- Experience working with students with diverse needs and abilities
- Comfort using teletherapy platforms and tools for virtual engagement
- Availability for approx. 4–5 hours/month, including documentation
- Experience in school settings or with IEP goal alignment
- Familiarity with special education processes and student services
- Creative and flexible approach to remote engagement
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
