Job Description

Remote counseling professor teaching and leading the University of Providence’s graduate clinical mental health counseling program. Overseeing accreditation, student mentoring, curriculum development, and program evaluation.

Responsibilities:

  • Teach graduate courses in the Master’s program in Clinical Mental Health Counseling
  • Evaluate program effectiveness and participate in systematic program assessment
  • Advise and mentor graduate counseling students
  • Supervise master-level interns in practicum and internship settings
  • Develop, review, and revise programs and courses
  • Ensure compliance with CACREP accreditation standards
  • Recruit students and support student retention and success
  • Represent the School of Health Professions on university-wide committees and teams
  • Develop and maintain relationships with counseling agencies, associations, and licensure boards
  • Collaborate with departments and stakeholders on interprofessional education and practice opportunities
  • Participate in shared governance committees concerning academic, curricular, student, and faculty affairs
  • Prepare internal and external administrative reports, including accreditation self-study and site visit materials
  • Establish partnerships with healthcare organizations for student clinical experiences
  • Represent the program at professional conferences and community events
  • Maintain current knowledge through conferences and professional development activities

Requirements:

  • PhD in Counselor Education from a CACREP accredited program (required)
  • Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC) (preferred)
  • Licensed Addiction Counselor (LAC) (preferred)
  • Teaching experience in higher education, preferably teaching graduate-level courses
  • Demonstrated success in curriculum development, program evaluation, and accreditation
  • Experience with distance education and online learning platforms
  • Proven ability in academic networking and commitment to integrating best practices into academic systems and processes
  • Evidence of ongoing scholarly activity
  • If eligible for professional licensure, must hold a current, unencumbered license and be eligible for licensure in the State of Montana
  • Must be able to fulfill academic faculty obligations and support teaching, scholarship, service, and development activities
