Job Description

Part-time Behaviour Support Practitioner helping Australians with disability achieve meaningful goals through evidence-based plans. Collaborating with families and allied health teams across North Tasmania.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver evidence-based Behaviour Support Plans
  • Create meaningful goals and practical strategies using a Positive Behaviour Support framework
  • Work towards the reduction and elimination of restrictive practices
  • Build the skills and confidence of families, carers, friends and other important people in a participant’s life
  • Advocate for supported people and help their voices be heard
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary allied health team
  • Support people with disability, their families and support networks to create meaningful, practical change

Requirements:

  • A degree qualification in an allied health discipline such as Occupational Therapy, Speech Pathology or Social Work
  • Experience developing, implementing and reviewing Behaviour Support Plans
  • Proficient, Advanced or Specialist status as an NDIS Behaviour Support Practitioner
  • A genuine passion for working within the disability sector
  • Ability to work autonomously while being supported by a team
