Job Description
Principal Design Quality Engineer ensuring reliable, manufacturable optical transceivers at Molex. Leading risk management, reliability, and quality assurance across the product lifecycle.
Responsibilities:
- Drive quality planning activities, best-practice establishment, and quality assurance throughout the product development lifecycle from concept through production release
- Drive FMEA, risk assessments, and Design for Reliability practices to identify and mitigate product risks early
- Provide technical leadership for reliability, failure analysis, and corrective action activities
- Review and approve design changes, component qualifications, and manufacturing readiness decisions
- Influence cross-functional teams and senior leadership on quality, reliability, and risk-based decision making
- Partner with suppliers and manufacturing teams to implement and sustain quality requirements
- Ensure the quality, reliability, and manufacturability of next-generation optical transceivers throughout the product lifecycle
Requirements:
- BS/MS in Electrical Engineering, Optical Engineering, Physics, or related field
- 10+ years of experience in quality, reliability, product, or design engineering
- Strong understanding of optical components and modules, opto-electronic and electronic devices, and transceiver manufacturing processes
- Expert knowledge of FMEA and risk management
- Expert knowledge of reliability engineering and qualification testing
- Expert knowledge of root cause analysis and corrective actions
- Expert knowledge of statistical methods and data-driven decision making
- Expert knowledge of design verification and validation processes
