Job Description
Principal Product Manager owning risk and compliance for RealPage Payments, RealPage’s property-management payments engine. Leading payment-risk products from strategy through launch, adoption, and optimization.
Responsibilities:
- Own the risk and compliance strategy, roadmap, and execution across payment product lines.
- Lead a cross-functional product pod across engineering, design, marketing, operations, and analytics, without direct people-management responsibility.
- Set priorities, clarify requirements, and ensure accountability for outcomes.
- Write PRDs, user stories, and acceptance criteria covering business rules, edge cases, data requirements, and compliance controls.
- Use AI tools to accelerate discovery and draft and pressure-test PRDs and user stories, while validating outputs with product judgment.
- Serve as day-to-day product owner by managing backlogs and making trade-off decisions across client value, technical feasibility, risk, and commercial impact.
- Lead end-to-end launches of payment risk capabilities, including discovery, business cases, requirements, build, testing, rollout, training, and post-launch measurement.
- Partner with Marketing and GTM teams on value propositions, positioning, messaging, and sales enablement materials.
- Act as a subject matter expert on RealPage Payments and the broader payments ecosystem.
- Stay current on industry trends, regulations, and competitive offerings.
- Participate in executive briefings as the voice of payments risk.
- Work with Operations, Legal, and Compliance to ensure resilient, scalable, compliant products and reliable experiences.
- Identify product, process, and experience gaps and drive cross-functional initiatives to address them.
Requirements:
- 6+ years of product management experience in payments, fintech, SaaS, or related technology businesses.
- Demonstrable ownership of risk and compliance initiatives across product lines.
- Proven track record managing products end-to-end, from discovery and strategy through delivery, commercialization, and iterative optimization.
- Experience leading cross-functional pods or squads involving engineering, design, marketing, and operations, without formal reporting lines.
- Experience operating in an AI-driven environment.
- Deep, hands-on risk and compliance expertise in a payment or fintech environment, including areas such as fraud prevention, KYC/KYB, transaction monitoring, sanctions screening, disputes and chargebacks, or ACH and card compliance.
- Working knowledge of consumer financial regulation and BSA/AML.
- Familiarity with NACHA, card network rules, Regulation E, and PCI DSS is a plus.
- Strong familiarity with card, ACH, cash/offline, and digital-wallet payment flows and payment economics.
- Property management, real estate tech, or proptech experience is a plus.
- Track record authoring PRDs, user stories, acceptance criteria, edge cases, non-functional requirements, and compliance controls.
- Experience working with internal teams to inform roadmaps, co-create solutions, and support go-to-market and adoption.
- Experience integrating third-party identity verification, fraud, and KYC/AML decisioning platforms into existing or legacy systems.
- Excellent communication and storytelling skills.
- Owner mindset and end-to-end accountability for outcomes and results.
- Highly collaborative and influential stakeholder-alignment skills.
Benefits:
- Health, dental, and vision insurance.
- Retirement savings plan with company match.
- Paid time off and holidays.
- Professional development opportunities.
- Performance-based bonus based on position.
- Additional rewards, including annual bonus and sales incentives, depending on the applicable plan, role, and individual performance.
