Job Description
Product Designer owning Pencil’s AI-powered advertising content editor. Shaping creation, editing, and export workflows across ads and other content formats.
Responsibilities:
- Own a core area of the Pencil editing platform end-to-end, from problem framing and concept exploration to final UI and shipped product
- Partner with Product and Engineering to define and rapidly ship features that increase content generations and exports
- Design production-ready interfaces for editing tools focused on speed and usability
- Expand creation tools across ads, images, video, email, display, and other formats
- Design and improve AI-powered editing workflows that are clear, usable, and trustworthy
- Work with engineers during implementation, review builds, and iterate until quality standards are met
- Conduct user research to identify problems, validate solutions, and improve usability and clarity
- Use and contribute to the design system, evolving patterns, components, and foundations
Requirements:
- Must have 5+ years of experience designing digital products, within SaaS or complex, workflow-driven editing and creation tools
- A strong portfolio demonstrating end-to-end product thinking with a focus on speed, creation, and impact on output
- Builder mindset with a deep obsession for creating tools that help users produce content faster
- Deep craft sensibility and solid interaction and visual design skills
- Proven ability to work autonomously and demonstrate strong product intuition
- High iteration tolerance and comfort with a "build and see what sticks" mode
- Strong experience working closely with engineers and ability to keep up with a large, fast-moving engineering team
- Highly proficient in Figma
- AI curiosity and comfort designing for AI-powered systems
- Legal right to work and remain in the country in which the candidate intends to work from
