Job Description

Product Designer improving Bitwarden’s cybersecurity and password-management experiences across web, desktop, browser, and mobile apps. Designing secure, accessible user journeys with AI-assisted tools.

Responsibilities:

  • Design experiences for individual, Premium, Families, and Business users across the browser extension, web app, desktop app, and iOS and Android apps
  • Improve onboarding, autofill, passkeys, secure sharing, account recovery, vault health reporting, and importing from other password managers
  • Explain security concepts so non-technical users can understand and act on them
  • Create user flows, prototypes, and production-ready designs using the Bitwarden design system
  • Use AI design tools for research, ideation, rapid prototyping, and iteration
  • Collaborate with product teams on emerging product concepts, including agentic workflows
  • Help run user interviews and usability tests and apply findings to improve designs
  • Present work in design critiques and to product and engineering partners

Requirements:

  • Candidates must be based in the U.S.
  • Prefer time zones that overlap with the U.S. East Coast

  • 2+ years of experience in product design or equivalent experience
  • Portfolio showing end-to-end design work on digital products
  • Strong interaction design skills, including sketching, wireframing, and prototyping
  • Proficiency in Figma and experience working within a component-based design system
  • Experience using AI tools such as Claude, ChatGPT, V0, or Figma AI, with ability to write effective prompts
  • Front-end development experience or experience prototyping in code with AI tools
  • Interest in designing AI features and understanding of their usability and trust issues
  • Understanding of and passion for cybersecurity, online privacy, and open source
  • Ability to design for users with a wide range of technical knowledge
  • Strong communication skills and collaborative working style
  • Successful candidates must authorize and complete a background check
  • Nice-to-have: experience designing cybersecurity, identity, or privacy products
  • Nice-to-have: experience designing AI-powered features
  • Nice-to-have: experience designing for both consumer and business customers
  • Nice-to-have: experience designing native iOS and Android apps or browser extensions
  • Nice-to-have: familiarity with Angular component libraries and accessibility guidelines such as WCAG
