Job Description
Senior Product Designer rebuilding SimpleStudy’s AI exam-prep platform, brand, and design system. Shaping mobile consumer experiences for 1.5M+ students across global markets.
Responsibilities:
- Shape the new design language and brand, including the design system, rebrand, and new mobile app
- Own the full design process from ambiguous problem to polished, shipped solution
- Drive the consumer experience across onboarding, social features, retention, and the learning loop
- Collaborate closely with engineers and the product manager to polish implementation
- Bring independent initiatives and challenge approaches with better ideas
- Raise the quality bar for the design team
- Partner with José, the Founding Designer, while reporting to him
- Work closely with engineering and help rebuild the brand, design system, and product experience
Requirements:
- High craft; polished and intentional visual work
- Portfolio showing artifacts and a clear point of view
- Experience shipping B2C products that people chose to use
- Understanding and use of product metrics
- Design philosophy that can be defended under pushback
- Ability to bring own initiatives
- Fluent written and spoken English
- Plus: standout specialty in prototyping, illustration, animation, or motion
- Plus: experience with social or viral product mechanics
- Plus: background at consumer companies such as Spotify or Strava
- Plus: early-stage or founding designer experience
- Plus: comfort with code for prototyping or front-end polishing
