Job Description
AML Program Manager supporting anti-money laundering initiatives at Wealthsimple. Collaborating with cross-functional teams to manage compliance and implement operational improvements.
Responsibilities:
- Support Wealthsimple’s Enterprise AML Program by managing policy, monitoring effectiveness, and reporting on the health of the program.
- Conduct Quality Control and Program Effectiveness Testing, including the Internal Audit Function.
- Identify opportunities for and execute operational improvements.
- Manage Audit Management and Enterprise Risk Assessment.
- Define the rules and standards to ensure compliance with the law and drive Policy Updates and Procedural Updates.
- Oversee AML enablement function and work with product, design, engineering, and regulatory teams to understand regulatory requirements and infrastructure gaps.
- Conduct Product Risk Assessments and ensure coverage as products are built and improved.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience implementing and managing AML programs, projects, systems, or products.
- Strong familiarity with Canadian AML legislation and regulations
- Strong attention to detail and documentation skills
- Strong analytical, research, and investigative skills
- Ability to understand and distill complex content into a clear and concise narrative and communicate it with audiences at all levels
- Appropriately assess risk/reward relationships when making decisions
- Ability to take ownership and lead projects with a proactive (reactive, when appropriate) approach and able to independently drive initiatives to conclusions
- Ability to perform well in a high pressure, time-sensitive environment
- Effective leadership qualities and motivated self-starter
