Job Description

Project Finance Coordinator managing project budgets, billing, expenses, and forecasts for Qualus, a power infrastructure solutions firm. Supporting project profitability, accounting close, and financial issue resolution.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee how projects earn revenue in the accounting system and provide monthly project earnings analysis
  • Analyze project cost reports and meet frequently with the Director of Finance and Project Managers to review project status for invoicing, profitability, earnings, costs, and cash flow
  • Prepare and execute budgets for assigned projects
  • Reconcile invoices to clients, vendors, or contractors
  • Set up and maintain projects in the accounting system according to contract terms
  • Maintain an organized accounting system with several accounts while complying with financial regulations, policies, and procedures
  • Review contracts, including amendments and agreements
  • Serve as a liaison between Project Managers, Project Accountants, Leadership, and the accounting team to ensure accuracy
  • Monitor the system for payments, purchase orders, invoices, and statements and follow up where necessary
  • Assist with the annual business plan
  • Independently research and resolve financial issues
  • Provide recommendations or commentary as needed

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 1-2 years in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Minimum of 1-2 years in accounting, preferably in a project-based environment
  • Basic accounting principles and US GAAP
  • Proficiency in Excel
  • Strong problem solving, analytical and critical thinking
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization
  • Ability to work independently and meet project deadlines
