Job Description
Construction Project Manager overseeing civil construction projects, crews, budgets, schedules, and subcontractors for Spriggs Excavation. Traveling continuously among central U.S. project sites.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and oversee civil construction projects from start to finish
- Supervise Project Superintendents and multiple crews/projects
- Ensure projects meet specifications, schedules, budgets, quality standards, and safety requirements
- Determine manpower, equipment, and material resources within budget limitations
- Manage subcontractors and coordinate work quality and contract adherence
- Evaluate progress and prepare detailed reports
- Schedule and coordinate projects for efficiency and quality
- Communicate with clients regarding budgets, schedules, and quantity tracking
- Support superintendents with project needs, manpower coordination, and day-to-day field activities
- Coordinate contract revisions, additions, and adherence by all parties
- Collaborate with clients, supervisory staff, subcontractors, engineers, and Project Engineers to resolve challenges
- Manage responses to delays, bad weather, emergencies, and other jobsite issues
- Build and maintain relationships with vendors, subcontractors, clients, and other project participants
- Perform project and budget tracking
- Issue and maintain One Calls
- Submit and track Submittals and RFIs for project compliance
- Work with the Project Engineer on specifications, Submittals, RFIs, Change Orders, and Quantity Tracking
- Participate in crew scheduling and evaluate manpower needs
- Provide work-in-progress updates and strategic forecasting to the Director of Project Management
- Prepare and verify accurate monthly billing with the Director of Project Management
- Use or maintain knowledge of Topcon/Trimble GPS
Requirements:
- 3-5 years of civil experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office 365
- Procore experience preferred
- Thorough understanding of contracts, plans, specifications, and regulations
- Ability to remain flexible and efficient in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to make intelligent and quick decisions, working well under pressure and when faced with unexpected occurrences or delays
- Ability to effectively multitask while analyzing and solving problems
- Thorough understanding of engineering, architectural, and other construction drawings
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to be professional in any situation
- Ability to be a team player with leadership capabilities
- Must be comfortable delegating tasks
- Proficiency in spoken and written English is a mandatory requirement
- Must be able to traverse and inspect all areas of jobsite in all types of weather
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds at a time
- Willingness and ability to travel 100% within the central United States
- Must be on-call to address delays, emergencies, bad weather, and other issues at the jobsite
- Successful completion of a pre-employment criminal background check and drug test
