Job Description
Quality Director leading quality systems, Lean Sigma improvement, and multi-site quality teams for MCC, a global premium-label manufacturer. Managing audits, supplier quality, budgets, and extensive travel.
Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership for continuous quality improvement across the division
- Develop and implement the organization's quality strategy
- Lead and indirectly manage quality control and quality assurance professionals
- Define procedures and control measures to meet quality standards and client expectations
- Champion defect reduction initiatives and establish and enforce an effective Quality Management System (QMS)
- Use Lean Sigma methodologies including DMAIC, SPC, QFD, 3P, poka yoke, and kaizen to improve processes and reduce defects
- Support supplier quality management and identify process improvement opportunities
- Establish and implement quality training programs
- Coach and develop plant Quality Managers in RCCM, MSA, SPC, and QMS tools
- Lead the quality organization and define responsibilities, staffing requirements, and operating procedures
- Update quality assurance manuals and procedures
- Standardize control plans, corrective action systems, and QMS across plants
- Develop and administer audits to verify plant adherence to MCC quality systems
- Enforce supplier quality standards, policies, and industry/government requirements
- Collaborate on product, engineering, manufacturing, and training methods
- Prepare product and process quality reports and cost of quality reporting
- Manage the quality assurance budget, analyze variances, and initiate corrective actions
- Provide performance management input and support talent development
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge through workshops, certifications, networks, and professional societies
- Participate in special projects and perform other assigned duties
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, Business Administration, or a related technical discipline required; equivalent direct experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
- Minimum of 10 years in a quality leadership role, including at least 5 years of multi-site quality leadership experience
- Direct experience coaching, teaching, and applying Lean Sigma, Six Sigma, and Lean Manufacturing techniques
- Advanced skills in Statistical Process Control (SPC), Change Management, PDCA, FMEA, and Control Plans
- Certified Lean, Six Sigma, or Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) required
- ASQ or other recognized certifications preferred
- Required to travel up to 80%, including international travel as needed
