Job Description
Regional technical manager leading marine composites support, product development and customer conversion. Scott Bader manufactures advanced composites, structural adhesives and functional polymers worldwide.
Responsibilities:
- Provide technical leadership and customer support across the Americas, with a primary focus on the marine industry
- Lead the North America marine technical function to drive profitable growth and customer conversion
- Partner with Commercial to develop technical value propositions, protect margin and reduce application risk
- Lead strategic OEM, boatbuilder and distributor technical engagement, trials, approvals and training
- Own the regional marine product and application development pipeline, ensuring disciplined delivery and strong business cases
- Drive technical excellence through complaint resolution, portfolio optimisation, Group technology adoption and capability development
- Support product development and strengthen Scott Bader’s marine proposition
- Drive adoption of Group technologies
- Connect technical expertise with customer needs to deliver growth across the Americas
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent qualification in Chemistry, Engineering, or a related technical discipline
- Extensive experience in marine composites, composite boatbuilding and/or structural adhesives
- Strong practical knowledge of relevant manufacturing and application processes
- Proven customer-facing technical experience
- Experience supporting marine OEMs, boatbuilders, distributors, fabricators, contractors, naval architects or design engineers
- Strong commercial awareness, communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to translate technical recommendations into customer and business value
- Ability to manage selected accounts in a sales capacity
- Proven ability to lead technical projects, manage customer trials and product approvals
- Ability to collaborate across commercial, operational and global teams
- Willingness and ability to travel approximately 50% of the time
