Job Description
Senior Accountant managing cost and inventory accounting for ACT Entertainment’s operating entities. Preparing close, variance analysis, reconciliations, and audit support across multi-entity ERP systems.
Responsibilities:
- Support the Accounting Manager in operating cost accounting and inventory accounting for Legacy ACT, tvONE, and Ambersphere
- Prepare monthly inventory and cost-of-sales close
- Maintain standard cost data and process new item costs and cost changes across each ERP
- Prepare data, analysis, and reconciliations for annual and interim cost rolls
- Develop and update overhead rates and allocation drivers
- Prepare monthly purchase price variance analysis and coordinate with Purchasing on resolution
- Analyze material usage, labor, overhead, and freight/duty variances
- Prepare monthly gross margin analysis by entity and product line
- Prepare inventory roll-forwards and reconcile perpetual inventory sub-ledgers to the general ledger
- Maintain inventory reserve calculations and supporting documentation
- Account for goods in transit, landed cost, capitalized variances, and demo/rental inventory
- Prepare intercompany inventory transfer entries and eliminate intercompany profit in inventory
- Support cycle counts and annual physical inventories across U.S. and U.K. locations
- Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, flux analysis, and cost and inventory schedules for reporting
- Prepare audit schedules and respond to external auditor requests
- Document procedures and controls and support process improvements, automation, ERP enhancements, and data cleanup initiatives
Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science in Business Administration or Accounting (Accounting major) from an accredited institution
- Strong academic record, such as Dean's or President's List
- 1+ years of post-graduate audit experience with a Big Four or comparable national firm
- Relevant audit, assurance, and financial operations internships
- Experience with financial statement tie-outs under U.S. GAAP and IFRS
- Experience with substantive testing of revenue, expenses, PP&E, and cash
- Experience participating in physical inventory counts
- Experience identifying and remediating control deficiencies
- Understanding of general accounting principles and audit workpaper preparation
- Exposure to ERP and accounting systems such as Sage 300, QuickBooks, and CaseWare
- Willingness to learn Microsoft Dynamics AX, NetSuite, and Xero
- Strong Excel skills and comfort working with large data sets
- High attention to detail and ability to meet close deadlines
- Ability to travel up to 25%
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
