Job Description
Senior Underwriting Analyst at CVS Health, analyzing PBM pricing and financial strategies. Supporting Aetna, Caremark, Finance, Sales, and Legal teams to improve client value and margins.
Responsibilities:
- Perform financial analysis and underwriting activities
- Manage complex PBM pricing strategies and pricing deployment
- Assess risk and develop recommendations to maximize client value while retaining margin
- Develop pricing recommendations for multiple lines of business using competitive analysis
- Assist Aetna Underwriting leadership with downstream pricing through segment-specific data
- Complete tasks in Caremark Underwriting models
- Modify Fee Authorization Forms appropriately
- Conduct ad hoc analysis for internal and client requests
- Develop and maintain relationships with Sales and Account Management
- Work with Caremark and Aetna Finance partners on margin budget development and validation
- Create and update complex Pricing Commitment Documents reflecting pricing and contract terms
- Advise Caremark Legal as the Underwriting subject matter expert during contract negotiations
- Analyze and advise on implementation scenarios related to regulatory changes
- Coordinate with internal partners to facilitate accurate and timely pricing-strategy implementation
- Report to the Senior Manager of PBM Underwriting
Requirements:
- 3 years in a health plan actuarial role, PBM financial analysis or underwriting role, or comparable industry experience
- Prior PBM/Health Plan or PBM/Employer experience preferred
- Actuarial experience and Actuarial certifications a plus
- Strong technical skills, particularly in Excel
- Bachelor's degree in mathematics, finance, statistics, actuarial science or other risk management or data related fields or equivalent experience
- Ability to analyze and make recommendations when not all information is available
- Ability to self-direct to find solutions with minimal guidance
- Ability to work independently and as part of a group in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to manage tight deadlines
- Leading-edge knowledge of PBM plan management strategies and solutions
