Job Description
Senior Applications Developer designing and implementing automated systems for Mercy’s healthcare operations. Analyzing business requirements, coding, testing, documentation, and system conversions.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, modify, debug, and evaluate programs for functional or operational areas
- Analyze complex business problems and develop automated systems
- Identify, evaluate, and develop cost-effective systems and procedures meeting user requirements
- Analyze existing programs and formulate logic for new systems
- Devise logic procedures, prepare flowcharts, code, and test/debug programs
- Develop conversion and system implementation plans
- Prepare and obtain approval of system and programming documentation
- Recommend changes to development, maintenance, and system standards
- Configure system settings and options
- Plan and execute unit, integration, and acceptance testing
- Create system specifications meeting business requirements
- Train users in system conversion and implementation
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in related field, specialized training, or equivalent work experience
- Detailed understanding of the full software development life cycle
- Extensive experience applying code management principles
- Five (5) years of relevant technical or business work experience
