Job Description
Establishing data governance practices for oncology research operations at Sarah Cannon Research Institute. Ensuring consistent, compliant, and accurate data across the clinical enterprise.
Responsibilities:
- Establish and uphold rigorous data governance practices for SCRI’s oncology research operations
- Implement and maintain SCRI‑aligned data governance policies, standards, and controls
- Serve as the subject matter expert for oncology or research‑related data domains
- Promote the use of standardized definitions, reference data, and sound data practices
- Define, curate, and maintain business metadata, glossaries, and data definitions
- Create and maintain proactive and reactive data quality rules
- Document end‑to‑end lineage of data assets
- Support organizational efforts to promote data literacy and governance awareness
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Analytics, Organizational Management, Information Systems, or related field
- Deep knowledge of data governance, stewardship, metadata management, and data quality practices
- 7+ years of experience as a Data Steward or Business Systems Analyst, preferably in healthcare industry
- Strong understanding of healthcare and oncology data
- Experience in data governance, data stewardship, data quality, or data management disciplines
- Experience with regulatory environments (HIPAA/PHI/PII, SOX)
