Job Description

Establishing data governance practices for oncology research operations at Sarah Cannon Research Institute. Ensuring consistent, compliant, and accurate data across the clinical enterprise.

Responsibilities:

  • Establish and uphold rigorous data governance practices for SCRI’s oncology research operations
  • Implement and maintain SCRI‑aligned data governance policies, standards, and controls
  • Serve as the subject matter expert for oncology or research‑related data domains
  • Promote the use of standardized definitions, reference data, and sound data practices
  • Define, curate, and maintain business metadata, glossaries, and data definitions
  • Create and maintain proactive and reactive data quality rules
  • Document end‑to‑end lineage of data assets
  • Support organizational efforts to promote data literacy and governance awareness

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Analytics, Organizational Management, Information Systems, or related field
  • Deep knowledge of data governance, stewardship, metadata management, and data quality practices
  • 7+ years of experience as a Data Steward or Business Systems Analyst, preferably in healthcare industry
  • Strong understanding of healthcare and oncology data
  • Experience in data governance, data stewardship, data quality, or data management disciplines
  • Experience with regulatory environments (HIPAA/PHI/PII, SOX)
