Job Description
Senior Director leading CarepathRx patient access, therapy initiation, and care coordination operations. Driving reimbursement performance, operational growth, compliance, and patient-centered pharmacy and infusion services.
Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic leadership for CarepathRx's patient access and therapy initiation operations across specialty pharmacy, infusion, enteral, and emerging service lines
- Oversee the end-to-end patient access continuum to optimize speed-to-therapy, reimbursement performance, compliance, and customer experience
- Establish strategic direction, drive operational excellence, advance organizational capabilities, and lead transformational initiatives
- Lead patient access, therapy initiation, and care coordination operations across Pharmacy Services
- Establish and drive operational, quality, service, and financial objectives
- Develop scalable operating models, workflows, and capabilities supporting growth and continuous improvement
- Lead process optimization, technology enablement, workforce effectiveness, and service innovation initiatives
- Develop strategies to improve patient access, remove therapy barriers, and accelerate speed-to-therapy
- Coordinate patient onboarding, therapy readiness, and care transitions with clinical, pharmacy, nursing, and operational leaders
- Advance site-of-care and access strategies supporting patient outcomes and organizational objectives
- Support growth initiatives, new client implementations, and service line expansion
- Evaluate market trends, reimbursement dynamics, payer policies, and emerging opportunities
- Optimize technologies, automation, and business processes to enhance scalability and performance
- Collaborate with payers, pharmaceutical manufacturers, health systems, and patient support organizations
- Lead reimbursement, authorization, and market access operations
- Improve approval outcomes, reduce denials, mitigate reimbursement risk, and strengthen payer engagement
- Partner with Revenue Cycle, Finance, Contracting, and Clinical leaders on reimbursement optimization
- Own operational and financial performance, including productivity, service levels, labor efficiency, reimbursement outcomes, quality, and profitability
- Lead budget development, workforce planning, resource allocation, and organizational prioritization
- Use analytics and performance insights to drive decisions and continuous improvement
- Communicate performance, strategic initiatives, and operational results to executive leadership
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, accreditation standards, payer expectations, and organizational policies
- Establish governance practices supporting audit readiness, reimbursement integrity, quality outcomes, and operational execution
- Build and develop a high-performing leadership team through coaching, succession planning, and capability development
- Foster accountability, collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement
- Lead change management, workforce planning, and organizational development efforts
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED
- 8+ years of progressive healthcare operations leadership experience
- 6+ years leading large-scale patient access, specialty pharmacy, healthcare operations, revenue cycle, reimbursement, market access, or care coordination organizations
- Demonstrated experience leading multi-functional teams across patient onboarding, reimbursement, authorization, financial assistance, care coordination, or related operational areas
- Experience leading large teams through operational transformation, growth, and process optimization initiatives
- Strong knowledge of payer processes, insurance verification, benefit investigation, prior authorization, reimbursement programs, market access dynamics, and patient access operations
- Proven ability to influence and partner across executive leadership teams
- Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, Pharmacy, Nursing or related field
- Preferred: Master's degree, such as MBA, MHA, MPH, or related discipline
- Preferred experience in specialty pharmacy, home infusion, ambulatory care, patient access, reimbursement, market access, or patient support services
- Preferred experience supporting health system partnerships and large-scale operational implementations
- Preferred experience partnering with payer relations, contracting, revenue cycle, pharmaceutical manufacturers, or patient support program partners
- For home working, internet connection must be through cable broadband or fiber optic service with at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload
