Job Description
Mental Health Therapist providing remote evidence-based counseling to California clients through CVS Health’s MinuteClinic. Supporting individuals, couples, and families while collaborating with clinical care teams.
Responsibilities:
- Provide psychosocial support and education for individuals, couples, and families ages 13+
- Practice evidence-based mental health therapy
- Perform diagnosis, care collaboration, treatment planning, and short-term counseling
- Use assessment and treatment planning tools to support continuity of patient care
- Build and grow the MinuteClinic mental health practice
- Reach and support patients within their communities
- Collaborate with the clinical care team
- Deliver therapy virtually and across multiple platforms
Requirements:
- Current, active, and unencumbered California state license as an LCSW, LPCC, LMHC, or LMFT
- Proven excellent diagnostic, care collaboration, treatment planning, and short-term counseling skills
- Evidence-based methodologies including motivational interviewing, problem solving therapy, and cognitive behavioral therapy
- Completed Master’s degree program from an accredited college or university
- Must be licensed in California as an LCSW, LPCC, LMHC, or LMFT
- If hired, must be willing and able to obtain additional state licensure
- Preferred: experience with or willingness to learn and adapt to virtual therapy delivery
- Preferred: understanding of psychosocial aspects of illness and health
- Preferred: comfort using electronic health record systems and multiple platforms
- Preferred: understanding of insurance, Medicaid, and Medicare billing requirements
- Preferred: crisis intervention skills
- Preferred: previous experience in a mental health clinic or hospital setting
