Job Description

Senior Gartner analyst advising venture capital and private equity leaders on emerging technology investment strategy. Producing research, market insights, client briefings, and actionable investment guidance.

Responsibilities:

  • Create innovative, thought-provoking, and highly leveraged must-have insights content
  • Develop thought leadership, new insights, and actionable approaches to client needs
  • Analyze client barriers and needs to drive strategy forward
  • Establish insights positions across a team of analysts
  • Provide independent insights to Gartner leaders and influence research agendas
  • Research, analyze, and predict market trends and shifts
  • Advise clients and prospects through virtual and face-to-face interactions
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to senior institutional investors, Venture Capital and Private Equity Partners
  • Represent Gartner's Global Invest Practice at global market events and high-stakes client briefings
  • Create and deliver presentation materials at Gartner events, conferences, and client briefings
  • Provide sales support and help Insights teams engage clients on critical priorities
  • Conduct timely, high-quality content peer reviews
  • Build credibility as an industry expert representing Gartner insights, methodology, and strategy
  • Participate in innovation, ideation, and research discussions
  • Collaborate with peers across the Insights community
  • Identify research process improvements and develop new processes
  • Mentor and coach junior team members
  • Help clients engage regularly with Gartner insights and interactions

Requirements:

  • Advanced degree (Masters in Finance, Economics, Business/MBA, STEM, or PhD) preferred
  • 12+ years of relevant experience in Venture Capital, Private Equity, Buy-Side Equity Research or Strategic Consulting within technology market
  • Deep familiarity with private investment lifecycles, valuation drivers, deal sourcing, due diligence and portfolio management across Venture Capital and Private Equity
  • Proven track record in venture capital, private equity, or strategic advisory
  • Strong proficiency in emerging technologies and mature market dynamics
  • Executive presence and ability to engage buy-side partners, investment committees, and fund leaders
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to work under tight deadlines
  • Excellence in research and writing
  • Strong written and verbal proficiency, analytical and presentation skills
  • Proficiency in analyzing and synthesizing data and applying patterns and frameworks
  • Strong communication skills and ability to explain complex concepts concisely
  • Subject matter expertise and comfort presenting at large and small-scale speaking engagements
  • Strong business and financial acumen
  • Deep knowledge of the global and competitive landscape within the subject area
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate across teams in a multicultural global team
  • Learning agility and ability to navigate highly matrixed environments
  • Ability to represent Gartner's research methodology and strategies effectively
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 25% where applicable
