Job Description
Senior Director leading enterprise communications, executive messaging, and change strategy. Advancing transformation and organizational alignment for a global environmental solutions company.
Responsibilities:
- Help lead enterprise-wide communication strategies that enable organizational priorities, transformation initiatives and business growth
- Develop integrated communication and change management plans supporting organizational, technology, operational and cultural transformation
- Translate business strategy into compelling narratives that create understanding, alignment and action
- Drive employee awareness, readiness and adoption of strategic initiatives while reducing change fatigue
- Establish scalable frameworks and best practices for enterprise communications and change management
- Serve as a trusted communications advisor and strategic partner to executive and senior leadership
- Develop executive communication strategies, messaging platforms, speeches, presentations, thought leadership content and leadership engagement plans
- Create and manage enterprise executive communications and leadership event calendars
- Counsel leaders through transformational moments, organizational change, acquisitions, crises and business milestones
- Strengthen employee engagement, trust and organizational culture through purposeful communications
- Develop manager communication toolkits and leadership resources
- Lead communication initiatives fostering engagement, trust, belonging and transparency across a diverse global workforce
- Establish and mature a world-class enterprise communications function
- Build communication governance, planning processes, measurement frameworks and operating rhythms
- Develop and maintain an enterprise editorial calendar aligned to strategic priorities and business objectives
- Partner with HR, Legal, Operations, Corporate Development and business leaders to align messaging and communication strategies
- Advance communications capabilities through technology, data and innovation
- Pilot and implement AI-enabled tools to improve communications effectiveness, efficiency and employee experience
- Track communication effectiveness, employee engagement, trust, adoption and business impact using measurement frameworks
- Support enterprise reputation management and strategic issues communications
- Develop communication strategies ensuring continuity, transparency and trust during uncertainty and growth
- Establish enterprise communications as a trusted strategic partner in planning and transformation
- Implement communications governance, planning processes and measurement frameworks
- Establish baseline trust, reputation, engagement and change adoption metrics
- Deliver communications support for strategic business, technology and organizational transformation initiatives
- Improve manager preparedness and leadership communication effectiveness
- Increase employee understanding of company strategy, priorities and organizational changes
- Drive measurable improvements in adoption, engagement, alignment and organizational readiness
Requirements:
- 12+ years of progressive experience in a communications and public relations leadership role
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Change Management, Public Relations, Journalism or a related field is required
- Proven ability to create compelling communications that engage, educate and inspire audiences
- Demonstrated ability to effectively partner, coach and consult with executive and senior-level leaders across functions, businesses and/or countries
- Experience enhancing and refining company branding, values and behaviors
- Presence, confidence, maturity and emotional intelligence
- Demonstrated ability to lead or support large-scale communications initiatives, including assembling and directing resources to ensure timelines are met
- Willingness and ability to handle multiple and competing priorities across different time zones and global teams
- Ability to navigate a dynamic, fast-paced environment
- Expert change communication, project management, prioritization and creative problem-solving skills
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally
- Exceptional writing and editing skills, with the ability to adapt content for different channels and audiences; AP style expertise
- Prior public company experience, either working directly for or via agency
- Experience with Adobe, Canva, ClickUp, internal comms tech (SharePoint, Poppulo), PR technology (Cision, Muck Rack, Meltwater, Business Wire, etc.) is a plus
