Job Description

Senior design leader directing four global product design teams at Alteryx, an AI-ready data and analytics company. Shaping trustworthy agentic experiences and scalable design operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Evolve the design vision and strategy for Alteryx’s product portfolio, especially AI-powered and agentic experiences
  • Represent design in senior leadership forums and advocate for user-centered outcomes and design quality
  • Partner with product management, engineering, and executive leadership on roadmaps, prioritization, and product decisions
  • Translate customer research, telemetry, Voice of Customer, and preview-program findings into design direction
  • Build and run the operating model for a 30-person globally distributed design organization
  • Lead staffing, capacity planning, prioritization frameworks, and design-operations processes across four teams and multiple product lines
  • Establish processes for design discovery, design review, and engineering handoff
  • Define design metrics and quality standards
  • Integrate AI into the design practice
  • Own budget, tooling, and contractor/vendor relationships
  • Manage and coach four design leaders
  • Build a culture of rigorous critique and high craft standards
  • Champion career paths, leveling, and growth plans for designers
  • Support the team in designing agentic and AI-powered experiences

Requirements:

  • 15+ years in product design
  • 6+ years leading design managers or leads
  • Experience in a SaaS or enterprise software environment
  • Track record of leading multiple design teams simultaneously across a broad product portfolio
  • Experience with complex, technical, or data-heavy products is a strong plus
  • Enthusiasm and point of view about designing AI-powered and agentic experiences
  • Ability to shape strategy with executives and provide hands-on design feedback
  • Experience building and running design operations at scale, including resourcing models, metrics, review cadences, and tooling
  • Experience managing distributed, global teams across time zones
  • Working knowledge of design systems, accessibility, and localization
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Ability to influence peers and executives without formal authority
  • Collaborative approach and close partnership with product, experience & insights, and engineering organizations
  • Capacity to serve in compliance with U.S. export controls
