Job Description
Senior Educational Consultant helping institutions implement Blackboard’s LMS and improve digital learning. Delivering implementation consulting, training, instructional design, and customer success services.
Responsibilities:
- Support customers in implementing Blackboard’s LMS for online teaching and learning
- Ensure successful product adoption and maximize educational returns on customer investment
- Define requirements and business rules
- Facilitate application strategy sessions
- Draft specifications and identify implementation strategies and product use cases
- Provide product training, instructional design, and course design services
- Lead delivery of customer systems to production state
- Support Learning Technology Planning, product training, and Blackboard Academy professional development workshops
- Analyze customer needs and identify aligned Blackboard products and services
- Identify gaps in customer skills, processes, or infrastructure
- Develop customer-specific implementation plans and timelines
- Develop and present meetings for prospects, executive sponsors, and senior leadership
- Identify customer risks, implement mitigation plans, and communicate with senior leadership
- Partner with Sales, Marketing, and Product Development to create customer solutions
- Coordinate unique requirements for large and strategic accounts across Blackboard departments
- Monitor, track, and report project status and performance
- Conduct stakeholder meetings and create implementation reports
- Manage a portfolio of strategic, consortia, and complex customers
- Deliver onsite and remote product and best-practices training
- Deliver e-learning consulting services covering course development, course facilitation, faculty development, and implementation
- Travel approximately 50%
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree required in a related field (e.g. education, information technology, business) or equivalent experience
- At least 5 years’ consulting experience, with experience consulting to educational institutions, or experience in management or administration within an educational institution
- Proven experience successfully implementing software solutions in diverse client environments
- Experience with e-learning course management technology, preferably Blackboard
- Demonstrable knowledge of global higher education or public education markets
- Strong project management skills and ability to handle multiple client engagements simultaneously
- Ability to work in a geographically distributed virtual team environment and build relationships with internal and external organizations
- Dynamic, creative problem-solving skills
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Fluent Spanish and English
- Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the country where the role is based and maintain that authorization; no visa sponsorship or immigration support
- Master’s degree in a related field (preferred)
- Previous experience in the education industry and e-learning technologies (preferred)
- Background in content/knowledge management, digital asset management, and education-related technologies (preferred)
- Background in instructional design and/or online learning theory (preferred)
- Ability to deliver services in Portuguese (preferred)
